Reproductive Mental Health
Often referred to as the "Baby Blues", "Postpartum" or "Postpartum Depression" are 6 distinct Perinatal Mental Health Issues. One (1) in 5 moms/women will experience some form of depression or anxiety issue during or after pregnancy. Some women may even experience some form of trauma before, during or after a pregnancy.

In addition, women over 35 can often experience emotional and mental health symptoms connected to the hormonal changes that happen during the early stages of peri/menopause.
Types of Perinatal/Postpartum Issues:
Anxiety
OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder)
Depression
Trauma
Bipolar Disorder
Psychosis
The most common feelings that women describe when they come to me involving reproductive mental health issues are increased sadness, hopelessness, tearfulness, feelings of guilt, irritability, anxiety (anxious or intrusive thoughts, feelings/emotions, sensations in the body), sleep disturbance, exhaustion, brain fog, difficulty with focus and concentration, loss of interest in previously enjoyed activities, disconnect from themselves, body, their baby or loved ones, frustration, not feeling like themselves, isolation and loneliness and changes in appetite.
We can work together to better understand these emotions, as well as give you a space to share without the worry of judgment. In therapy, I can help you to develop ways to deal with these feelings, so that you can get back to feeling like yourself again.
